Jewish Life

Many of us have quietly started questioning the meaning of our lives, and how Judaism figures in our spiritual yearnings and understandings. Jewish life programs in our Section dovetail with our own personal spiritual awakening and a spiritual upsurge both in this country and in Israel.

Join us for one or more of these thought-provoking programs, which promise to give you new insights, new perspectives, and a new way to view Jewish life for you and your family.

Chuppah Quilting Project

After working for two years to design, appliqué, and quilt a magnificent, one-of-a-kind chuppah, this chuppah is finally done! It made its debut in August when one of our members exchanged wedding vows under this beautiful quilted chuppah at Highlawn Pavilion in the South Mountain Arena in Essex County. This was the first time our chuppah has sheltered newlyweds and their bridal party. The gorgeous chuppah is available for rental by calling (888) 895-3059.

Our coffee is brewing, our needles are poised for action, and we’re all ready to start our new projects. Everyone is welcome to join the NCJW Quilters on Tuesday mornings, 9–11 AM, at a member's home. No experience is necessary. The only requirement is that you enjoy good company. This year we will be creating challah and matzah covers. To RSVP or for more information, please call (888) 895-3059.
