As a special Hanukkah treat, National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW), West Morris Section is planning a festive Latke Challenge & Hanukkah Bazaar for members and friends on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m., at a private home in Morris Plains (snow date and location: Dec. 14, at a private home in Mendham). This year, Hanukkah begins at sundown on Dec. 22.

Exceptional chefs among the NCJW, West Morris membership will bring bring their tastiest latkes (potato pancakes) to this Festival of Lights event, where everyone will have a chance to sample and vote for their favorite latkes (no Russian interference here!). The winner(s) will receive a copy of the organization’s cookbook, titled “Transcending Tradition.” Complementing the latke challenge will be a Hanukkah bazaar, with handmade gifts by talented NCJW members.

For this fund-raiser, the charge is $5 a person ($10 a couple).
