The Back 2 School shopping event, sponsored by our Section, put a big smile on the face of students from 5 to 17 years old who are served by Homeless Solutions! The youngsters had a chance to get brand-new clothes and shoes for the upcoming year.

Personal shoppers purchased clothes for children in grades K–5 and loved looking to fill the children’s requests, which once again included sparkly tops; brightly colored leggings for the girls; and Lego and superhero T-shirts and hoodies for the boys. Middle school and high school students would rather shop for their own clothes, so the Section purchased gift cards from Kohl’s for them. That way, they could pick out their own favorites.

Fifty children were served in all, thanks to the generous donations of Section members and the Pine Brook Jewish Center. Heartfelt thanks to our B2SS committee—Kay Salzman, Melanie Levitan, Karen Secular and Kim Kramer Ganz—and all the volunteers who made this event a success for the third year in a row!
